Soap Making Methods
The soap Making is an interesting activity on which you don’t need to spend too much money. All you need is proper method and all the materials. Soaps can be made from different materials, like vegetable oil, fats or lye. No matter which material is used to make soap, water is necessarily used. The process, by which soap is manufactured, is called saponification. The soaps we use in our daily life are generally prepared from petroleum distillates, instead of fats or oils. The soaps made from oil and fats are much better for a human skin, than the commercial soaps. The reason is that, the natural moisturizing quality in the fats and oils is retained in homemade soaps. Soap making is a fun and many people practice this task as a hobby. There are many types of soaps, such as basic soaps, glycerine soaps, curing soaps, essential soaps, hand-milled soaps and fragrance soaps.
The most common processes include Cold Process, the Melt and Pour Soap, Hot Process Soap Making and Rebatching Soaps. In the Cold Process method, the fatty acids and the sodium hydroxide are combined together to make soap. The soaps made as a result of cold process are long lasting and hard. In order to have more lather, coconut oil and olive oil can be used as a moisturizer. The method should be followed with great care and should thoroughly be studied before doing actual work. The Melt and Pour Soap or Glycerin Soaps are handmade soaps. The Glycerin Soaps are quite good for skin. When a face is washed with glycerine soaps, a thin layer of glycerine is remained on the skin, which draws moisture to your skin. The Hot Process of soaps needs a stove to make them, since all the ingredients in this process are heated. The mixture is stirred continuously while heating. At a stage, the excessive water gets dried due to evaporation. Then allow the mixture to cool down. After a short span of time, the soap appears which can be used for required purposes.
